Prayer for Cleansing My Heart

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today with a humble and contrite heart, seeking Your mercy, grace, and cleansing power. You are holy and pure, and I long to be more like You. Yet, I recognize that my heart is often burdened with sin, weighed down by impurities, and distracted by the cares of this world. Lord, I need You to cleanse me, to purify my heart, and to renew my spirit so that I may walk in righteousness before You.

Father, Your Word says in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” I echo this cry today, asking You to wash me clean from all unrighteousness. Remove every sinful thought, every impure motive, and every selfish desire that separates me from You. Forgive me for the times I have allowed bitterness, anger, pride, jealousy, or unforgiveness to take root in my heart. I lay these burdens at Your feet, Lord, and ask that You replace them with love, joy, peace, and humility.

Lord Jesus, You died on the cross so that I could be made new. Your blood was shed to cleanse me from all sin, and I receive that cleansing today. Wash over me, Lord, and make me whiter than snow. Let Your Holy Spirit search the depths of my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to You. Convict me where I need correction, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Father, I surrender my heart completely to You. I ask that You fill it with Your presence and Your truth. Let my thoughts be pure, my words be kind, and my actions reflect Your love. Help me to guard my heart diligently, as Your Word instructs in Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” May my heart be a dwelling place for Your Spirit, a place of worship, and a vessel of Your grace.

Lord, I pray that You would remove any fear, doubt, or anxiety that lingers in my heart. Replace them with faith, trust, and confidence in Your promises. Help me to fix my eyes on You and not be swayed by the distractions of this world. Let my heart be steadfast, unwavering in my devotion to You.

Father, I also ask for the strength to forgive those who have wronged me. If there is any resentment or bitterness hidden in my heart, please uproot it and replace it with Your love and compassion. Teach me to love as You love, to forgive as You forgive, and to extend grace as You have so graciously extended it to me.

Thank You, Lord, for Your endless mercy and for the work You are doing in my heart. I trust that as I seek You daily, You will continue to refine me, mold me, and transform me into the person You have called me to be. Let my heart be a reflection of Your goodness, and may my life bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus’ mighty and precious name, I pray,

Amen.
