Prayer for Anxiety Before Bed

Heavenly Father,

I come before You tonight with a heart that is heavy, a mind that is restless, and a spirit that longs for peace. Lord, You know my thoughts before I even speak them, and You see the worries that weigh me down. Tonight, I lay them all at Your feet. I surrender my fears, my anxieties, and my uncertainties to You, trusting that You are in control and that Your love for me is greater than any worry I carry.

Father, as I prepare to rest, I ask for Your calming presence to surround me. Quiet the racing thoughts that keep me awake, and replace them with the assurance of Your perfect peace. Your Word tells me to cast all my anxieties on You because You care for me (1 Peter 5:7), so I do that now, knowing that You are my refuge and my strength.

Lord, I confess that sometimes my heart is troubled by things I cannot control. The uncertainties of tomorrow, the burdens of today, and the regrets of yesterday often cloud my mind. But You have told me not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present my requests to You (Philippians 4:6). So, Lord, I bring my concerns to You now, asking for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

I pray for restful sleep, Father. Let my body relax, my mind be at ease, and my soul find rest in You. Protect me from nightmares, from restless tossing and turning, and from any disturbances that may disrupt my rest. Let my sleep be sweet, as You have promised in Your Word (Proverbs 3:24). Watch over me through the night, Lord, and let me wake up refreshed, renewed, and strengthened for a new day.

I also pray for trust, Lord. Help me to trust You more deeply, to believe that You are working all things for my good, even when I cannot see it. Remind me that I am never alone, that You are always with me, and that Your love surrounds me like a shield. When fear tries to creep in, let Your perfect love cast it out (1 John 4:18). When doubt whispers in my mind, let Your truth speak louder.

Thank You, Father, for being my refuge, my comfort, and my peace. Thank You for holding me in Your hands and for never letting me go. I rest in the promise that You will keep me in perfect peace as I fix my mind on You (Isaiah 26:3).

I trust You, Lord. I love You. And I place this night, my worries, and my heart in Your hands.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.
