Prayer for Anxiety Depression

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today with a heart that feels heavy, burdened by anxiety and weighed down by depression. Lord, You are my refuge and my strength, my ever-present help in times of trouble. You see the depths of my heart, the struggles I cannot always put into words, and the fears that overwhelm me. You know my thoughts before I even speak them, and You understand my pain even when I cannot fully express it.

Father, I feel lost in the darkness, but I know that You are the light that no darkness can overcome. When my mind is clouded with worry and despair, remind me that You are my peace. When my heart is restless, let me find rest in You. When I feel alone, remind me that You are always with me, that You will never leave me nor forsake me.

Lord, I surrender my anxious thoughts and my heavy burdens to You. I lay them at Your feet, trusting that You care for me. Your Word says in Philippians 4:6-7 to not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present my requests to You. And You promise that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I cling to this promise now, Lord. Let Your peace fill my heart and calm my troubled mind.

Father, when I feel weak, remind me that Your grace is sufficient for me, and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. When I feel unworthy, remind me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. When I feel hopeless, remind me that You have a plan and a purpose for my life, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future.

Lord, I ask for healing—healing for my mind, my heart, and my soul. Lift the weight of depression from me and replace it with joy. Replace my fears with faith, my sorrow with hope, and my anxiety with trust in You. Help me to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may walk in Your truth and not be overcome by the lies of the enemy.

Father, I pray for strength to face each day, for courage to take the next step, and for wisdom to seek the help and support I need. Surround me with people who will encourage me, pray for me, and remind me of Your love. Help me to remember that I am not alone in this battle, for You are fighting for me.

Lord, I thank You for Your unfailing love, for Your mercy that is new every morning, and for the hope I have in You. Even in the midst of my struggles, I choose to trust You. I choose to believe that You are working all things together for my good. I choose to rest in the truth that You are my healer, my comforter, and my Savior.

I give You my anxiety. I give You my depression. I give You my fears. And in return, I receive Your peace, Your joy, and Your love.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
