Prayer for Addiction Recovery

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today with a heart that is heavy, yet hopeful. You are the God of mercy, the God of healing, and the God of restoration. You see my struggles, my pain, and my weaknesses. You know the battles I fight every day, the temptations that pull at me, and the chains that have bound me for so long. Lord, I lay them all before You, for I know that in Your presence, there is freedom.

Father, I confess that I have fallen short. I have allowed addiction to take hold of my life, to control my thoughts, my actions, and my desires. I have hurt myself and those around me. I have sought comfort in things that cannot truly satisfy, in substances and behaviors that only bring temporary relief but lasting pain. But today, Lord, I choose to turn to You. I choose to surrender. I choose to believe that You are greater than my struggles and that Your power can break every chain that binds me.

Lord, I ask for Your strength, because I cannot do this alone. I have tried and failed, but I know that with You, all things are possible. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may have the courage to resist temptation, the wisdom to make the right choices, and the perseverance to keep moving forward even when the road is difficult.

Father, I pray for healing—healing of my body, my mind, and my soul. Cleanse me from the inside out. Remove the cravings, the desires, and the strongholds that addiction has placed on me. Renew my mind, Lord, and help me to see myself as You see me—not as a failure, not as someone beyond hope, but as Your beloved child, worthy of love, grace, and a new beginning.

Surround me, Lord, with people who will support and uplift me. Place in my life friends, family, mentors, and counselors who will encourage me, hold me accountable, and remind me of Your truth. Help me to let go of relationships and environments that pull me back into darkness, and guide me toward those that lead me closer to You.

Lord, I pray for patience with myself. I know that recovery is a journey, not a single moment. There will be struggles, there will be setbacks, but I trust that You are walking with me every step of the way. When I stumble, remind me of Your grace. When I feel weak, remind me of Your strength. When I feel unworthy, remind me that Your love never fails.

I also lift up others who are struggling with addiction. Lord, You see each one of them. You know their pain, their fears, and their battles. Reach out to them, just as You are reaching out to me. Bring them hope, healing, and the strength to seek help. Let them know they are not alone, that You are with them, and that there is a way out through You.

Thank You, Lord, for Your endless mercy. Thank You for never giving up on me, even when I have given up on myself. Thank You for the new life You offer, for the freedom that is found in You. I place my trust in You, knowing that You are leading me toward healing, restoration, and a future filled with hope.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
